The First Session Ends with David Carl Bagging the Chip Lead

It was a tight race for the big stack at the end of this session, as five players were all between 300,000 and 500,000 by the end. However, it is David Carl (pictured above), who bagged the most chips with 536,500. The second biggest stack belongs to Mehrzad Sadeghi, who amazingly already bagged the overall chip lead earlier in the tournament with 799,000. He has locked up $3,000 more for his double qualification. Fourteen more Day 2 tickers were punched in this flight. If you don't have your Day 2 ticket yet, your next chance will be tomorrow at 11:30 AM!

Payouts for the 4 PM Session

The late afternoon session topped the morning one with 292 players. That means that the final 29 players will finish in the money, with the top 15 collecting $1,000, and moving on to the finals on Tuesday. Be sure to come back in the morning for a full updated list of qualifiers for this massive Day 2. Good luck all!

16-22. $400
23-29. $300

No Hand-for-Hand Needed in the 11:30 Session

Sometimes in these flights, we have lengthy money bubbles that can last up to if not over a hour. Other times, we don't have any money bubble play. That just happened in the 11:30 AM flight, as we quickly lost two players to get down to the final 28. All of these players have locked up some cash tonight, but only half of them will be taking $1,000, and a Day 2 seat, home with them.

Tonight and Tomorrow's Mega Satellites Still Part of the Points Standings

We wanted to clear up some confusion regarding the Mega Satellite Qualifiers list we posted earlier this morning. Players will be able to accumulate nine points in both tonight's 8:30 Mega Satellite, as well as tomorrow's satellite, starting at the same time. The promotion will be running through tomorrow night as printed on our schedule sheets.

Good luck players!

By the Numbers: Afternoon $550 Session

The second flight of the day drew 144 players, meaning that 14 more Day 2 tickets will be punched. There are two more $550 sessions tomorrow and Monday, the last two of this kind. If you want to take your shot at one of them, 2 PM is your time! Good luck players.

Some Player Photos in the $550 Session

Take a look at some of the players who are here in the $550 session below. We spotted poker Hall of Famer Billy Baxter in the house. Also here is Jamie Gold, who won the WSOP Main Event in 2007, and finished runner-up to Antonion Esfandiari in the WSOPC Main Event here last March. Check out those photos below, along with a few other familiar faces!

That means that the final 14 players will be advancing to the finals in a few days, while places 15-28 will be earning some extra money. The final flight of the day has just kicked off, so come on down if you haven't locked up a Day 2 ticket yet!
