Over 350 Entries and Counting in the Main Event Today

We mentioned earlier that today was going to be the biggest starting flight of the Legends of Poker, and you guys have certainly not disappointed. The clock currently says 358 and registration will remain open until tomorrow when the cards hit the air at noon local time.

Be sure to come back in the morning to get a full return list of the survivors from all three flights, as we get closer to crowning the next World Poker Tour champion!

What's on Tap: Monday, August 28th

The final week of the 2017 Legends of Poker rolls on tomorrow with Day 2 of the Main Event. Registration for this event will be open until cards hit the air at noon local time. Players will start with 30,000 in chips, and the blinds will be at 600-1,200.

At 2 PM, we have the final starting flight of our Big HORSE $100,000 Guaranteed Event. For that one, the buy-in is $350, and the top 15% will be making Tuesday's finals. Registration for that flight will be open until 5 PM.

We wrap the day up just like we did today with an $1,100 Turbo Event. Today's event drew 25 players, and will be paying out over $12,000 to first place. Registration for that event will be open until 5:30 PM.

It's an exciting time to be at the Bicycle Casino, so be sure you don't miss out on all the action!

By the Numbers: $1,100 Turbo Event

Today's $1,100 Turbo drew a field of 25 players, and will pay out the top three spots. A min cash will be good for just under $5,000, while the top prize will be over $12,000. Check out the full payouts below, and don't forget that if you want to play in one of these, we have another one starting up tomorrow at 4 PM!

1. $12,125
2. $7,275
3. $4,850

Cards in the Air: $1,100 Turbo Event

It's time to keep the side events rolling here at the 2017 Legends of Poker with another $1,100 buy-in tournament. Over the last few days, we've run deepstack, bounty, and survivor $1,100 buy-ins, and we are mixing things up again today with a Turbo structure. All levels will be 20 minutes long, and registration will be open today until 6:15 PM.

Good luck all!

Japanese Pop Star GACKT Playing at the Legends of Poker Today

Japanese pop star GACKT is here in the field today, and while he may be one of the most recognizable faces in Japan, and have nearly a million followers on twitter, he's just another poker player in the house today. He is grinding away in the early hours of this Day 1C, currently sitting on a stack of about 25,000 on the second break of the day.

We will be sure to keep track of GACKT's progress as the day moves on. Good luck GACKT.

Big Numbers So Far in Flight 1C

The last flight is usually the biggest in the Legends of Poker Main Event, and that is proving to be no different today, as we have already easily passed the total number of entrants in each previous flight. As we approach the second break of the day, the tournament clock says 273 players and counting. Registration will be open for this flight all day, and it will stay open for anyone who wants to re-enter, or buy-in for the first time, until tomorrow morning at 12 PM.

Once the cards are in the air tomorrow, registration will officially close. Good luck players!

Cards in the Air: $100,000 Guaranteed Big HORSE Flight #4

It's time for the next flight of our Big HORSE event today here at the Legends of Poker. So far, only 29 players have managed to make it through to the finals on Tuesday, so we are looking at a small field to be coming back to battle it out for a first place prize that should be around $20,000.

The buy-in today is $350, and the top 15% will be cashing for $450 and moving on to the Day 2 finals. Registration will be open today until 5 PM. Good luck players!

Some Recent Big Winners Among the Crowd of Notables Today

As expected, we have a new crop of local players here on the third and final Day 1 of the Legends of Poker Main Event. Amongst the crowd are two of the biggest winners of the series: Young Eum and Phuoc Nguyen. Eum won the $500,000 Guaranteed event earlier in the series for over $120,000, while Nguyen is fresh off his victory in the 17th Mega Millions earlier this week, where he won over $335,000!

Scroll down for those photos, and a few more early on in this Day 1C flight.

Cards in the Air: Final Main Event Flight

It's time to kick off the third and final starting session here at the 2017 Legends of Poker Main Event. This third flight should be the largest of the event, and registration will be open all day long. Players will be starting with 30,000 in chips, and we are playing ten 1-hour levels today.

Remember that registration will be open until the start of Day 2 tomorrow, so you will still have a chance to come in then and register if you aren't able to qualify today. Stay tuned today for updates from this event, as well as our Big HORSE flight at 2 PM, and our $1,100 Turbo Event at 4 PM!
