Some Photos From the $1 Billion WPT Celebration

There was a brief pause in the Main Event when T.J. Shepard busted out in 47th place, as it marked the WPT crossing over the $1 Billion mark in prize money given out. As a result, Shepard has earned a free entry into next year's Legends of Poker Main Event, as well as hotel accommodations for that event. Shepard posed for some photos and made a speech after his knockout, and you couldn't wipe the smile off of his face.

The best part? Shepard satellited into the event, and turned that $430 investment into a payday of $10,405. Congratulations to TJ Shepard. We'll see you next year!

We Are in the Money in the Legends of Poker Main Event

After a few hands of hand-for-hand play, the first all in and call of the bubble looked like it wouldn't be the last, as Emad Bastawros got his final chips in preflop holding [As][Ac] against the [2s][2c] of Kevin Andriamahefa. However, the [2d] popped right into the window, and Bastawros was unable to catch up from there, sending him out on the bubble.

The 81 remaining players are taking their first break of the day. When they return, we will get some updated chip counts for some of the locals still in with a shot.
