Charania Scores Big Double Near the Bubble

We just saw a tangle between two notable big stacks near the money bubble that has seen two time WPT Champion Mohsin Charania catapult into one of the chip leaders. Charania was heads up with former WSOP Colossus winner Cord Garcia, on a board reading [Qd][10d][5s][Kh].

Garcia was first to act, and he moved all in, having Charania covered. It was a massive bet of 740,000 effective, more that double what was in the middle already. Charania thought for about a minute before calling with [Kc][Qc], and he would have some outs to fade, as Garcia rolled over [7d][4d] for a flush draw.

The river was red, but it was the [3h], and Charania scored a massive double up to nearly 1.8 million, while Garcia is still doing ok with over 400,000.

Just One Table From the Money Now

The clock says 134 players remaining, meaning that we are one table worth of eliminations from making the money, as only the top 125 will be locking up the $980 min cash. Once the bubble has burst, we will grab another round of notable chip counts for you guys.

Congratulations to Martin Tamero, Winner of the Quantum Millions Event!

Martin Tamero dominated this final table from start to finish, ending the whole thing in just three hours. On the final hand, Ibrahim Naim got his short stack in preflop holding [Kd][9c], and he was up against the [Qh][3c] of Tamero. The flop of [10h][6s][4s] kept Naim in front, but the [Qc] on the turn flipped the script. Naim needed a king or jack to survive, but the [2c] came instead.

Naim will have to settle for $125,345 and second place, while Tamero will take home $211,005, and the title of Quantum Millions champion!

Thank you to everyone who came out for the Quantum Millions Event. Remember that the Mega Millions XX will be running all week, so be sure you come out to join us for that!

Qing Lu Eliminated in 3rd Place ($84,190)

Martin Tamero is continuing to bulldoze this final table, as he just knocked Qing Lu out in 3rd place. The two got all of Lu's chips in on the turn of a board showing [10h][8h][10d][7h]. Lu had [9h][6d], but she was disappointed to see that she was drawing dead against the [10s][7d] of Tamero. A nine came on the river, and Lu wished both players luck before heading to the rail.

This leaves us heads up, with Tamero holding a massive lead: 85 million to the 17 million of Ibrahim Naim.

By the Numbers: Saturday Morning MMXX Flight

The morning flight of this Mega Millions Event drew a crowd of 198 players. The top 12 will be punching their tickets to the Day 2 finals. Remember that the late afternoon session is in full swing right now, with registration open until 7 PM tonight!

1-12. Advance to Day 2 + $800
13-18. $400
19-24. $300

Vuong Do Eliminated in 4th Place ($66,120)

Vuong Do and Ibrahim Naim went heads up to a flop of [Qh][4h][2h]. Do checked to Naim, who bet 800,000. Do check raised to 3.3 million, and Naim called. After the [3s] turn, Do shoved all in, and Naim called.

Do: [4d][2s]
Naim: [6h][3h]

Naim's flush was ahead of the two pair of Do, who needed to make a full house on the river to survive. A seven came instead, and Do parted in fourth, while Naim is back to to nearly 40 million.

Final Mega Millions Flight Today has Started

It's 4 PM, so we are ready to get another starting session going here in Mega Millions XX. The buy-in is back down to $160 for this one, with all players having an optional $100. Registration is open today until 7 PM, and we have another day of qualifying starting tomorrow at 11:30 AM!

Tamero Maintaining Big Lead Four Handed

Blinds: 300,000-600,000

Martin Tamero - 63,000,000
Ibrahim Naim - 23,00,000
Qing Lu - 16,000,000
Vuong Do - 13,500,000

Samuel Muradyan Eliminated in 5th Place ($52,415)

Martin Tamero has taken over in the last hour or so, as he now has a big chip lead over the final four. The first big pot from Tamero came after he picked off a big river bluff from Ibrahim Naim with just a pair of jacks on a queen high board.

A few hands later, Tamero would put Samuel Muradyan at risk holding [Ac][Kh]. Muradyan held [6h][6c], but he fell way behind after the flop came down [Ks][8s][9h]. Another king came on the turn, and no miracle six hit the river, sending Muradyan to the rail.

Tamero now has 58 million chips, over half of the chips in play four handed.

Alan Myerson Eliminated in 6th Place ($41,140)

Martin Tamero started the action with a raise to 1.3 million, and Vuong Do made the call. Alan Myerson then moved all in for 7.4 million, and Tamero thought for a bit before moving all in over the top. Do thought for about a minute before folding, and we were off to the races.

Tamero: 7c][7s]
Myerson: [Kh][Qc]

The board ran down [4c][2s][2d][5h][6s], and the pocket sevens held to get us down to the final five players.

Fresh Counts From the Final Six

Blinds: 250,000-500,000

Ibrahim Naim - 42,000,000
Vuong Do - 21,000,000
Qing Lu - 18,000,000
Martin Tamero - 15,000,000
Samuel Muradyan - 8,300,000
Alan Myerson - 6,500,000

Giuseppe Catalano Eliminated in 8th Place ($24,425), John Simonian Eliminated in 7th Place ($32,235)

Giuseppe Catalano - 8th Place

Giuseppe Catalano started the action by moving all in from under the gun. A few seats over, Qing Lu moved all in over the top. Right next to her, John Simonian called all in for less than Lu, but more than Catalano. Everyone else folded, and the cards were on their backs.

Catalano: [6d][6c]
Simonian: [Qs][Qd]
Lu: [Ad][Ac]

Lu's aces were in great shape to score the double knockout, and just like that, we are down to just six players at this final table!

John Simonian - 7th Place

Do Doubles Through Naim

Ibrahim Naim raised it up under the gun, and from late position, Vuong Do reraised to four million. Action folded back to Naim, and he moved all in, having Do easily covered.

Do made the call with [As][Js], and he was flipping against the [8s][8d] of Naim. Do took the lead right on the flop of [Jc][7c][3h], and no miracle eight came after that.

Do scores big double up to 21 million, while Naim is back down to the 35 million he started the day with.

Derek Kwan Eliminated in 9th Place ($17,850)

Derek Kwan got his short stack in preflop holding [As][7h], but he was dominated by the [10s][10h] of chip leader Ibrahim Naim. The board would run down [Ks][6s][4c][5d][4d], and the tens held for Naim.

Naim had already added to his chip lead before that hand, and he now has even a bigger lead on the field with eight left.

Ibrahim Naim Takes Lead on Final Hand of the Night

After nearly two hours of 10 handed play, we finally lost Donald Forshey in 10th place. He moved all in or just under 10 million preflop holding Ace-King, and he was racing against the pocket jacks of Ibrahim Naim. The jacks would hold up, and the entire table had a tired celebration when the final card was play.

Below you will see how the final nine currently stack up. They will return at 2 PM tomorrow to play on the Live at the Bike stage. Be sure to come back then for all of the updates, as we will crown the next Quantum Millions Event winner!

Hero Call Leads to Big Double for Tamero

There is already a sea of pink 100,000 chips in the middle on a completed board showing [Js][7s][Qh][6s][10d] when Martin Tamero fires out 1.4 million. The bet is for about half the pot, but Ibrahim Naim wants to play for more, as he moves all in, having Tamero covered.

Tamero thinks for quite some time, first looking like he is going to call, then looking like he is going to fold. He counts out his chips a couple of times, and then says "ok good luck guys," as he tosses a few chips in the for call.

"Good call," Naim says, as he rolls over [Ah][3s] for ace high. Tamero shoots out of his chair and tables...[7d][3c], good for fourth pair on board, and enough to take down a huge pot.

Tamero doubles into second place with 15 million, while Naim drops down to 11,800,000.

Lu Spikes Turn to Double

Three players see a flop of [7d][5s][4c] come down. Ibrahim Naim bet one million, and Martin Tamero reraised to 2.5 million. It was on Qing Lu now, who went deep into the tank. She thought for about two minutes, counting her stack out a few times, before moving all in for about four million. Naim moved all in over the top, Tamero folded, and the cards were on their backs.

Lu: [10h][7c]
Naim: [Qs][Qd]

Lu had flopped top pair, but she was well behind the ladies of Naim. That all changed though when the [10s] hit the turn, drawing a celebration from Lu. The hand wasn't over yet, but an ace on the river did seal it.

Tamero shook his head, saying that he folded Ace-Seven, and would have won the hand had he stayed. As is though, Lu nearly triples up to over ten million, while Naim drops down to about 13 million.
