What's Coming Up: Start of the $500,000 Guaranteed Event

Tomorrow we kick off the biggest event of the Legends of Poker so far, the $570 buy-in $500,000 Guaranteed Event! The first two of six total flights in this event will be starting tomorrow at 11:30 AM and 4 PM, with registration open for four hours in both.

The top 12% in each flight will be earning $800, and a Day 2 ticket, and you can click here for a full structure for the event. Good luck players!

Don't Forget About Tonight's Main Event Satellite

Tonight at 8 PM, we are running another $500 juice free satellite that will guarantee at least three discounted seats to the WPT Main Event at the end of the month. We had an overlay in each of these satellites last weekend, and the same could happen today, so be sure to get here before registration closes at 9:30 PM tonight to take your shot at locking up one of the three guaranteed discounted seats.

The Final Five Agree to a Deal: Arman Tyfekchyan is the Champion!

The final five players took a look at the numbers, and after Arman Tyfekchyan agreed to give everyone an extra $500 in order to keep the $5,000 WPT seat, a deal was struck! For his efforts, Tyfekchyan will take home $51,195, and the aforementioned seat, while everyone else will earn at least $28,000.

Scroll down for a full breakdown of the chop, and congratulations again to all five players on their showings!

1. Arman Tyfekchyan - $51,195 + $5,000 WPT Legends of Poker Seat
2. Jonathan Bowers - $47,640
3. Ryan Wallace - $39,600
4. Michael Nia - $30,445
5. Steven Firestone - $28,230

Possible Overlay in the $75,000 Guaranteed Event

Over in the afternoon $75,000 Guaranteed Event, we are off to a bit of a slow start, with 76 players registered on the first break of the day. Registration is open until the start of the Day 2 finals tomorrow, and remember that there is no late registration for that, so you have to come down and register before 1 PM.

Of course, you still have time to join us today, as they will be playing six more levels, so come on down and take your seat!

Updated Counts From the Final Five

Blinds: 60,000-120,000 Average: 6,300,000

Ryan Wallace - 8,200,000
Arman Tyfekchyan - 7,800,000
Jonathan Bowers - 7,600,000
Michael Nia - 4,700,000
Steven Firestone - 3,000,000

Michael Best Eliminated in 6th Place ($14,985)

Blinds 50,000-100,000

Steven Firestone kicked off the action with a raise to 300,000, and Michael Best tossed his final 350,000 total into the middle. Arman Tyfekchyan also called in the big blind, and him and Firestone would check down the board, which came out [Qd][Js][6d][Kd][As].

Firestone announced an ace, but Tyfekchyan showed [10d][7h] for a straight, which beat the pocket deuces of Best. Best did a good job of laddering up while on the short stack, but his run ends with a payday of $14,985.

We will post updated chip counts for the final five shortly.

Tigran Abgaryan Eliminated in in 7th Place ($11,680)

Blinds: 50,000-100,000

Action folded around to Tigran Abgaryan on the button, and he moved all in for his final 1.3 million. Michael Nia was in the big blind, and after getting the count, he assessed his stack for a bit, then dropped in the call.

Abgaryan: [Qd][10c]
Nia: [Qh][Jd]

Nia just had Abgaryan out kicked, giving him a huge lead going to the flop. Neither player would improve on the [Ac][7s][4s][9d][8d] runout, and Nia's jack still played to knock us down to the final six players.

QQ Zhou Eliminated in 8th Place ($8,840)

Blinds: 50,000-100,000

Jonathan Bowers raised to 225,000, and Ryan Wallace called in late position. From the small blind, QQ Zhou moved all in for his final 325,000 or so. Both players called, and the flop came down [Ks][4c][3s]. Bowers check folded to a bet from Wallace, who tabled [Kd][2d] for top pair. Zhou could only shake his head as he revealed [9c][9h], as he was in dire straits now. The board finished out [10s] and [5d], and Wallace scored the knockout to add to his big stack.

That leaves us with just seven players now.

Abgaryan Doubles Through Bowers

Blinds: 50,000-100,000

Action folded to Tigran Abgaryan on the button, and he moved all in for his final million in chips. In the small blind, Jonathan Bowers called to put him at risk.

Abgaryan: [10s][10d]
Bowers: [Ac][10c]

Abgaryan was in great shape to double, and the tens would hold on the [9d][5c][3h][Kc][10h] runout. He doubled up to about 2.2 million, while Bowers is now down to 4.6 million.

Thuy Nguyen Eliminated in 9th Place ($6,375)

Blinds: 50,000-100,000

On the first hand back from break, Thuy Nguyen got his final 700,000 in the middle holding [Ad][10c]. Once again, Arman Tyfekchyan looked down at a dominating hand, [Ah][Qh], but this time, his hand would hold up on the runout of [Js][6c][3d][Kh][2c].

Tyfekchyan extends his chip lead with that pot, while also getting us down to just eight players!

Fresh Counts From the Final Nine

Blinds: 50,000-100,000 Average: 3,500,000

Arman Tyfekchyan - 6,600,000
Ryan Wallace - 6,500,000
Jonathan Bowers - 6,400,000
Steven Firestone - 4,700,000
Michel Nia - 3,600,000
Michael Best - 1,500,000
Tigran Abgaryan - 1,300,000
Thuy Nguyen - 710,000
QQ Zhou - 500,000

Best Gets Lucky to Double Again

Blinds: 40,000-80,000

Michael Best moved all in preflop for his final 700,000, and he was called by big stack Arman Tyfekchyan.

Best: [As][8s]
Tyfekchyan: [Ac][Kc]

Best stood up and put on his backpack when he saw the cards, but his fortunes would quickly flip after the flop came down [Jd][8d][4h]. Best just needed to fade a king or running straight cards now, and the [9c] turn and [7c] river insured that.

The final nine players are going on a break now. We will grab updated chip counts for everyone shortly.

Best's Turn to Double Up

With the blinds at 40,000-80,000, Michael Best got his final few big blinds in preflop holding [Ad][8d], and he was happy to see that he was well out in front of the [Ah][3h] of big stack Ryan Wallace. The flop of [9h][8s][4s] shot Best even further into the lead, and he had the hand locked up after the [4d] turn.

This still leaves us nine handed at this final table, with Arman Tyfekchyan. Ryan Wallace, and Jonathan Bowers still leading the way.

Zhou Scores Another Exciting Double Up

QQ Zhou and Michael Best have both been folding down to a few big blinds, each one seemingly waiting for the other to bust. Well Zhou finally took a stand by shoving all in for his final four big blinds from under the gun, and for good reason, as he held [Ac][Ad]. Arman Tyfekchyan was in the big blind, and called the all in with just [10c][5c].

That hand turned to gold after the flop came down [9d][5s][5h], giving Tyfekchyan trip fives. His lead would last just one card though, as the [Ah] came on the turn, causing a bit of a ruckus at the table. No one outer on the river came, and Zhou doubled up again, though he is still under ten big blinds.

Cards in the Air: $75,000 Guaranteed Event

We are starting up the afternoon event here on this Legends of Poker Saturday. This $570 buy-in event has a guarantee of $75,000, and registration will be available until the start of Day 2 tomorrow. We will be playing nine levels today before bagging up and returning for tomorrow.

Good luck everyone!

Zhou Spikes River to Double

QQ Zhou moved all in from under the gun for his final 310,000, and Steven Firestone reraised to get everyone else out of the pot. Firestone held [Kc][Kh], and he was in great shape to knockout Zhou, who held [Ac][Qd].

The flop of [Jh][10c][6d] meant that a king would now help Zhou, and the [9s] also gave him the eight's in the deck as outs. He wouldn't need any of those though, as the [Ah] came on the river to double him up to over 700,000, while Firestone takes the smallest of hits to his stack.

David "ODB" Baker Eliminated in 10th Place ($4,110)

David "ODB" Baker was one of the shorter stacks to start the final table, and as you would expect from a player with his experience, he wasn't afraid to get that stack in the middle early. Unfortunately for him when he got his chips in preflop holding Ace-Queen, he ran into the pocket kings of Arman Tyfekchyan, and the kings would hold up to knock the dangerous Baker out in 10th place.

We Have Crossed the $100k Guarantee

Over in this morning's event, the field is now up to 344 players, meaning we have passed another big guarantee here at the Legends of Poker. Don't forget that the winner of this event will receive a $5,000 WPT Legends of Poker seat in addition to the lion's share of the prizepool, and you have just under an hour to come on down and take your seat, so don't hesitate!

Ryan Wallace Bags Huge Lead to End Day 2

Ryan Wallace - 6,890,000

The eliminations came fast and furious throughout the day, as a starting field of 175 is down to just 14 after twelve levels of play today. Leading the way by a healthy margin is Ryan Wallace. He already had the chip lead when he won another huge pot at the end of the night, after his Ace-Jack was able to fade a world of outs against King-Queen of diamonds, following a flop of [Jd][9d][9c]. He bags up a huge stack of 6,890,000, nearly double that of second place player Steve Firestone, who bagged  3,860,000

Below you will see how the final 14 currently stack up, listed in order of their current seat. The action will be picking up again tomorrow at 1 PM, and we will be here until the end bringing you every update you will need, so  make sure to come back then!
