Local Regular Kevin Song Bags the Lead

The first ten levels of the 2019 Legends of Poker Main Event are in the books, and it is a familiar face to the Bicycle Casino who is in the lead. Kevin Song bagged up 362,500, giving himself a nice boost over the rest of the field.

Other local regulars who advancing to Day 2 with a comfortable stack are Owais Ahmed (219,000), Sam Weiss (170,000), Jared Griener (157,500), Adam Weinraub (155,500), David Pham (151,000), Kyung Mun Lee (112,500), and former champion Harry Arutyunyan (93,000).

Final Break of the Night

Players are now taking their fourth and final break of the day here on the opening day of the Legends of Poker Main Event. When they return, they will play two more levels before bagging and tagging for the field.

Local regular Owais Ahmed is maintaining his chip lead over the 188 person field today. For more updates from this Main Event, check out the World Poker Tour live updates page, and be sure to come back in the morning for the return list of survivors from this flight.

What's Coming Up: Sunday, September 1st

Tomorrow is Day 1B of the Main Event, but it isn't the only poker being played. We kick things off at 11:30 AM with the $550 Survivor Event. This has a guarantee of $100,000, and will be capped at 200 players if it get there. The top 10% will all be taking home $5,000 cash for each. That money can be used to buy-in for the Main Event, or could be parlayed into the $5,300 Survivor Event Monday afternoon, where the winners will all be taking home $50,000!

The second day one of the Main Event will be starting up at 12 PM tomorrow, and just like today, registration will be open all day in that event. We wrap things up at 5 PM with a $570 satellite that will be guaranteeing at least three seats to the aforementioned $,300 Survivor Event on Monday.

Now that players have returned from dinner in the Main Event, we took a walk around the floor to see how the local players are faring so far. We found that former champion of this event Harry Arutyunyan is building up another big stack, as he is one of the leaders right now. However, they are all trailing local WSOP bracelet winner Owais Ahmed, who is the overall leader at the moment. The FInal Three Agree to a Deal: David Brookshire is the Winner!

David Brookshire had opened up a nice lead in the three handed HORSE battle, and they all decided to take a look at the numbers. After some discussion, a deal was struck that saw Brookshire take home the lion's share of the prizepool, and the $5,000 WPT Main Event seat.

Dinner Time in the Main Event

We are six levels into the Main Event 1A today, and at the moment, local player Owais Ahmed is leading the field that has over 170 entries so far. Players are taking their 60 minute dinner break right now, and they can enjoy the player's buffet by the Bike Brewery in the casino.

When they return from break, we will grab a few big stack updates for you guys, and also compile a list of updated chip counts for some of the locals in the big dance today!

Updated Counts On Break of the HORSE Event

We are down to the final five players in the $100,000 Guaranteed HORSE finals after George Rahme busted out in sixth place. The final five have $6,360 locked up, and while they are on their break, we grabbed fresh counts for all of them.

Quickly Down to Six in the HORSE Finals

Shirley Rosario was on the severe short stack to start the HORSE final table, and she busted out on the first hand of nine handed play. She earned $1,925 for that showing, and she was followed out the door by Usmaan Mela, who earned $2,635 for his eighth place finish.

Just now, Qinghai Pan's quest to earn a third title at this year's LOP fell just short, as he busted in seventh place for $3,645. This leaves us with just six players, and they have all locked up at least $4,860. You can view how the final six stack up below.

After losing Robert Turner in 11th place, and David Levi in 10th place, we are at our unofficial final table of nine players. Former WSOP bracelet winner Max Pescatori has seen a great surge recently, and has the chip lead with 2.7 million. On the other side of the coin, local regular Shirley Rosario has an uphill battle, as she is sitting on just 45,000 in chips.

Second Break of the Main Event

We are four levels into play in the first of two Day 1 starting flights for this Legends of Poker Main Event. So far, the field is at 156 players, but that number will be going up throughout the day, as registration will be open until all day and through to the start of Day 2 on Monday.

Players will play two more levels before a 60 minute dinner break, where Mo's famous shrimp tower will be available for all players!

The Second Satellite of the Day has Started

We had a great turnout in our morning $540 satellite, as 127 players came out. That meant that 12 discounted seats will be handed out there, while 13th will be well on their way with a payout of $3,500.

We are starting up another satellite now in the tournament ballroom, and it looks like we will once again be cruising past the guarantee of ten discounted seats. Registration for this satellite will be open until 5:30 PM. Come join us!

The finals of the HORSE $100,000 Guaranteed Event are now underway here at the Bicycle Casino. We have already lost Richard Passalacqua in 15th place, and Joe Brandenburg in 14th. The 2019 Legends of Poker Main Event is Underway!

After taking a one year break last year, the $5,000 WPT Legends of Poker Main Event is back here at the Bicycle Casino! This event has a massive $2,000,000 Guarantee on it, and will have over 70 satellite winners in the field. Registration for this event will be open until the start of Day 2 on Monday, so you have all weekend to come on down and join us for this event.

The First of Three Satellites Today Have Started

The poker action has started up here on the first day of the Legends of Poker Main Event. That event starts at the top of the hour, but we are starting the day off with a $540 Mega Satellite that will be guaranteeing at least ten seats to the Main Event.

Registration is open until 1 PM. If you can't come out for this satellite, we have two more today at 4 PM and 7:30 PM.

After a full day of Mixed Game action, only 15 players remain in the HORSE Day 3 finals. Danny Woodlard leads the way with over 2.3 million, which is over a million more than the second place player George Rahme. Qinghai Pan is still alive looking for his third title this series.
